Definition
A pair of numbers written in the form (x, y) that represents a point's location on a coordinate plane. The first number is the x-coordinate (horizontal position) and the second is the y-coordinate (vertical position).
Examples
Real-world.
- 1 (3, 5) means 3 units right and 5 units up from the origin
- 2 The origin is represented as (0, 0)
- 3 A table of values for y = 2x gives ordered pairs like (1, 2), (2, 4), (3, 6)
